Default Class Epic MQ's: Why are some outrageously priced?

So far from what I've seen it is like this.

Monk epic MQ - FULL = 100k
Rogue epic MQ - FULL = 25-30k
Cleric epic MQ - FULL = 60k

Ranger epic MQ - Shattered Emerald of Corruption 300k, VS stone 250k
Druid epic MQ - Fay water 300k, VS stone 250k

Why are the prices of ranger and druid mq items so rediculously high in price? What makes them so special? I mean, I can only imagine guilds have quite a few of them just lying around. Do they hold on to them out of greed? I feel like every 50+ player on the server should have access to an epic just from what guilds are holding on to.

The thing that blows my mind the most is how they can expect any newer player(less than a year) to be able to afford 500k+ for TWO measley MQ items?

Please don't flame this thread, I would like to hear others thoughts on this topic and what they think a fix could be. Fix being other than waiting until epic mobs are triggerable a few months into Velious.

Partly because your prices aren't completely accurate and partly because some epics are more difficult to obtain than others.

The worst is the monk epic. About as easy as the rogue epic and 4x the price.

Monk epic is way harder. Rogue is literally pp two mobs, pick up a ground spawn and get a solid group+ to kill a triggered mob.

Monk epic there are 6 mobs you need to get a solid group for, not to mention the bother of finding the pipes and a book to mq if you don't loot them yourself. Even more of a bother if you don't kill q/z.

I think I'm going to start rocking some monk epics. 100k for the effort is way better than 25k for the rogue epic. One group can do all the kills fairly easily. Chardok pipe is so easy to get. So challenge is the KC pipe (5k?) My guess is the monk epic will be the next to drop in price once people realize that its doable by one group of friends who are willing to share in the profits.

If you can get the right group of people, for sure. Organizing it around everyone's time is the real battle.

Look at the time derivative if you want to feel a little better: A year ago druid epic MQ was advertised at roughly 1 mil!

Really? That is nuts. The only thing I can think of for a solo druid to make plat is by grinding seafuries. That would be roughly 1,000 hours of in game time spent killing them, assuming you had them to yourself for the duration of your time there.

If you have any corrections to what I posted please let me know, I'm curious anyways.

If you think seafuries are a druid's best option for making money, you haven't seen Daldaen post about his leet druid PLing services.

Also, epics aren't really meant for solo people to get in the first place. Join a guild and kill the monsters for your epic and you'll see why some are priced higher than others. Basically, some of them require monsters that are in extremely high demand because they drop a lot of great items and/or the epic drop is a rare one, so there are a ton of guilds competing for those monsters, and they don't spawn often. Others don't require such rare / sought-after mobs. The difference is huge. My main character is a 60 wizard and he's been level 60 for about a year. He doesn't have his epic and I don't expect he will anytime soon. My cleric, rogue, and shaman alts all have their epics and it was pretty easy for all three.

I started playing on this server again in mid August of this year, my druid was level 15 with no gear.

I just bought an Epic and a full suit of gear for my rogue the other day. Once you get to the higher levels, there are countless opportunities to make money.

That being said, anything worth 300k+ still seems absurd to me. The limits of my fortitude to farm plat are right around the point I can afford to twink an alt with a fungi. I'm guestimating that will take me a month or so of casual plat farming. Though I believe someone of the right class to farm HS or Seb could do it in a matter of a couple days.

Moral of the story: there are a lot of people on this server, who have been here for a while, that have the capacity to farm obscene amounts of plat rather easily. You just have to build the right foundation first.

Just keep shopping around, I bought a pair of vib gloves for 3 fungis and 10k then I traded them for vs/seoc and a tolans Bp, so I ended up paying like 220k which is pretty reasonable. If ppl are pricing their shit outrageously then just don't buy it and hold out.
