Exclamation SOE Hits my immersion for 600 points of damage!

Hi,

New player here, Mr Oldfart, i have been running around in norrath for the past week enjoying every bit of it until today when i finally got 24 and a nice gnome helped me research the lvl 24 pet "Haunting Corpse". I was excited see Jabober grow in size! But once summoned he looked like a tiny ugly new skeleton version, you know the ones SOE made which looks like utter complete shit.

How can i fix this? I need my immersion, i want the old red original beautiful skeletons not these badly made plastic pygmy pieces of trash!

Thank you for all the hard work, the server is truely a classic experience, beyond anything i could ever imagine, but please help me with this issue!

Thank you!!

Nope it's there, i did have all the skeleton models correct all through lvl 1-20 but at 24 it became a SOE skeleton (red one) [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Thanks for the tip though!! All are welcome, i want to solve this!

My bad. Staff forums. Best explanation I could find with my search terms and I don't think there's any super secret info in here.

I will try my best to explain this:
The only way to force the classic-era skeletons is to force the client to use the Luclin-era skeletons and disable the globalload stuff. Since Luclin era skeletons only had one color there is no way to force a texture (or color change) for the dark-boned skeletons.

The original skins for the dark-boned skeletons do exist (see: Brown Skeleton Information) Unfortunately as far as we know, there is no way to force the client to map these skins to the original skeleton models and thus we can't properly implement dark-boned skeletons.

I hope you find what you're looking for, but it will never be the way you want it, even if they were able to make it 100% exactly like it was at launch.

I think there may be a way to force pre-luclin models. When I first started, P99 had all the original player models, but all the mage elementals were the updated models (with heads and muscles etc). What I did was at the very first Everquest screen to show up when you start the program, select the "Option" menu. I got a pop-up within Everquest saying an external menu would open up, which it did. In this menu, I think I first selected my GFX card and then on the next menu, I was able to select which luclin textures to load. I deselected all, and then continued through the menu. When I got back into Everquest and loaded up P99, all of the mage elementals were the old floating torsos and arms. I don't know if this will work with skellies, but you may give it a shot.

Good luck.

i understand adding classic darkboned skeletons to P1999 prob wont be able to happen
but i wont be aposed to the devs adding say the classic zombie / mummy in its place if thats possible
i know its not classic but the change would be purly cosmetic
