Default Mobs that don't move that should

Did a search on static spawn mobs and rather than rez an old thread which did not generate a reply in the bugs forum, I figured I'd create a new one to see how widespread this is. It's obviously been happening for a long time, maybe since the servers inception (I wouldn't know). So maybe a dev will reply with an explanation of why this happening and if it will ever be fixed.

The amount of mobs which spawn and do not move is significant. In my time hunting in the Karanas on my ranger it's very easy to come across these mobs and, if in the appropriate level range, just set up "camp" next to them and hunt from there. This changes the way you play the game. Part of the fun/frustration of classic EQ was actually looking for mobs. And I know this is gonna sound like a whine, but this also represents a slight imbalance towards classes with tracking. Let's face it, one of the major reasons why you'd ever want to create a ranger at this point in the game is tracking. Yes, it's still useful for tracking rare mobs but for your meat and potatoes grinding mobs it's nowhere near as useful due to the above bug. You just need to find one of these static mobs and play from there. The ones I've encountered all seem to be on quick spawn timers, maybe 6 minutes.

Mobs pathing in general seems far more predictable than on live too. Are there less spawn points for each mob and less random variances in where they can path (if/when they do start moving)?

Feel free to move this to the bugs forum if it's deemed more appropriate.
