Default Any use for a quiver?

I used to use a tailored quiver back in the day, but now I hear that they don't really provide any benefit whatsoever since you can just shove arrows in any old backpack and they'll draw from there. Plus the weight reduction on the quivers doesn't provide any shooting haste bonus (which makes sense since they added that like, during Luclin or something).

Since you can only put arrows in the quiver (unless the items get "stealth dropped" into it), it would make sense to just use a backpack of some kind for the versatility.

Just wondering if I'm wrong on this, or if I'm missing something entirely?

Not having a quiver for my bow makes me feel weird. :-P

I never bothered to use a quiver on live. Only being able to put arrows in them is kind of a deal breaker.

If you loot a mob it will stuff other items in there. I am always cleaning crap out of my quiver.

I believe Fleeting Quivers came before luclin.

It reduced bow delay by 20% and stacked with all hastes.

Anyone know anything about this?

People believed that quivers gave their weight reduction percentage in haste for archery. I'm not really sure if this was ever universally true. Either way, I believe most quivers have some amount of weight reduction, so if you're not using magic bags, it'll make your arrows a little bit lighter. That's pretty much what they're for. Later on it became convenient for keeping your various types of arrows organized for the Endless Quiver AA.

they definately reduced delay in firing. the debate was exactly how much they reduced delay. there were several theories.

The quiver 'haste' was based off the weight reduction %. When it was put in the game? No idea.

EDIT

Found it, look here...

SO it was during SoV but before SoL came out...

The bow haste should be equal to one third the weight reduction listed on the quiver.
