Question Pet Weapons and Secret Pet Weapons?

Howdy,

I am curious again about pet equipment this time in the offensive manner.

I am very confused about what weapons increase damage and what weapons dont for pets. I have tried several different 2h weapon varieties for my pet without it affecting it all, but today I found a mage who gave her pet a baton of faith and the pet did double its damage! She said there are other weapons like it that give the boost, but couldnt remember the names.

Is there a secret list out there of weapons pets can use for absurd damage and where can i find this list lol?

Thanks!

Also, what items can a pet not wear? No trade? Racial specific (tried an axe with only barb, ogre, troll didnt work)?

The delay doesnt matter correct?

And can pets dual wield 2h weapons? Or 2h main and off hand a 1h?

Thanks again!

It has to do with the damage on the weapon. Giving a pet a weapon will raise its max melee hit to 2x the weapon's damage number, assuming that would be a bigger max hit than the pet normally has.

Not sure about the other questions though.

Your problem might have been giving your pets weapons with too high a delay. I think either delay 50+ or delay >50 (not sure which) they won't bother equipping the weapon?

Personally I have noticed no difference in a total dmg increase or the combat speed of the pet when giving it weapons. I can give my pet a 18dly weapon and he doesn't attack any faster or a 50dly weapon and he doesn't attack any slower. Same goes for dmg... If my pet has a max hit of 56 it hits for 56 with its hands or w/e weapon I give it including 2h weapons. From what I understand giving a pet weapons will enable dual wield (if the pet is high enough level) and will also allow your pet to proc what ever proc is assigned to the weapon (stun, dd, snare, etc)

Well, not understanding how it works can lead to errors in conclusions based upon observation.

Pet will use any weapon it can equip. Some weapons have a hidden tag "not pet equiptable". If you give it to them, and they don't have it displayed, it's probably not pet equip able. The Weighted axe for example, is NOT something a pet can use.

The delay of the weapon is ignored on a pet. They always use their base delay.

The dmg of the weapon will increase the pet's dmg over all if the weapon dmg is higher than the pet's base dmg.

So say the pet base dmg/delay is 5/30, and you give the pet a weapon that is 9/45. You will end up with the pet wielding the wepon as a 9/30 delay.

Keep in mind... A weighted axe (45 DMG / 150 Delay) isn't equipped by pets on this server. It is a BUG and should be equipable by pets until Luclin.

Pets only will change their damage if the weapon's damage x 2 is more than the pets innate max hit.

So Baton of Faith is a cheap 30 DMG weapon which changes pets max damage to 60. At low levels this is good.

But at higher levels the only weapons worth giving pets are procing weapons.
