Half elf paladins of Tunare

How did they end up in Felwithe? Are they maybe half high elf instead of wood elf? Did they grow up there in Fel, or did they move there from Kelethin once it became clear they were destined to be Holy Flower Knights?

They seem very unique in this regard. This one specific race/class/deity combination starts out in an otherwise high elf exclusive area. And it doesn't get much more exclusive than high elven society. There's gotta be some story there.

Perhaps they go their for superior elf-paladin tactics and training? I can see it like, they are born in kelethin, and have to go there cause it's the closest.

Yeah but I wouldn't think high elves would accept "mixed breeds" lore-wise. The only thing I could think would sway high elves more than "racial purity" would be a religious edict...maybe Tunare gave the order in a vision or some such.

From what lore do you get that high elves obsess over "racial purity"? I always saw the existence of half-elves as Verant showing that the elves in the EQ universe were explicitly open to inter-racial relationships of all kinds, intimate, professional, etc.

It seems reasonable to me that some half-elves could be born to a high elf or a wood elf parent and that visually they wouldn't appear very different. Maybe the human phenotypes are more genetically dominant and the phenotypes from the elves are just the pointy ears, infravision, facial features, etc. It's also interesting to consider whether half elves may also sometimes descend from dark elves as well, yet the human features are just more dominant.

Unless there's some lore that explicitly says they are the result of a wood elf parent and a human parent, I'd think it's intentional that they left it vague. It's up to the player to craft the story of their character's parents. Maybe half elves who start in Felwithe are the ones who are part high elf or maybe they're part wood elf and just decided to go the independent lifestyle and train with the Tunarian knights next door.

Perhaps this is a cautionary tale to other half-elves of Koada'Dal birth; join the temple as paladins or face their fate...

Perhaps, the High Elf Paladins feared the half elves would become corrupted, so they gathered them all in Felwithe to watch their training and performance, big brother style. If the half-elves rose against the machine, or became malevolent, it would be easy to purge their corrupt blood from Norrath.

So some half elves are raised in Felwithe, and they all become paladins? Kinda makes it sound like holy knight is a lowly rank lol. It's very strange that half elves are there when you think about it. They can't play any int class (except bard) or cleric, and the paladins have very low wisdom. Why would high elves put up with that nonsense?
