Default Any IT's out there playing on Mac?!?

I need some help here. I bought this Mac mostly for my wife, but I have always been a PC person. I have been playing on P99 for almost a year now on it with little to no issues whatsoever. Out of the blue a few days ago, it started "semi-freezing" at the server select. After I click "Play EverQuest!!" the buttons all press in (dim) as if the loading screen is about to go "black" then loading screen, but it never moves. Here are a few variables I have to offer.
First: My wife download Avast and recently there have been a ton of pop ups from Avast showing threats and such just from Google Chrome. I shit-canned that garbage program already.
Second: I first noticed the issue after my brother and I tried to log on from my house and I got the temporary IP ban on the Mac because I was logging on second. Once my brother left, I wasn't getting the temp IP ban anymore, but that is whenever it started to do this "semi-freeze."
I have done a complete reinstall of Wineskin/EQ and have the same issue. I have turned my firewall off during the installs and bootup, still no change.
I can still move my mouse and that's about it. I have to force quit the program to close it.
Ty for reading my entire post, please let me know if there are any other options I should try. Also, please try to explain things "barney style." I am not an IT nor am I Mac savvy. Thank you again P99 community.

Deactivate you're anti-virus (avast). Some other bozo was having this same issue in the thread right below this one.
