Exclamation Application Error on load...help?

I have just loaded the Titanium edition from disc and followed the directions on the Project 1999 start up section. I have signed in and selected blue, it loads the loading screen and then I get the pop up:

The instruction at 0x02a745b4 referenced memory at 0x0374f0cc. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program

I am not a technical person, so if anyone could assist me with a solution for this, it would be sincerely appreciated....help me......[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Try the instructions listed in #1 of the Frequently asked questions:

1. Help! When I try to run eq, at some point before entering the game, I get an error that looks something like this:
The instruction at 0x029110ce referenced memory at 0xfffffffc. The memory could not be read

This solution to this is actually very simple. Go to your EQ folder. Find the file eqclient.ini and open it in a text editor (i use notepad, its the simplest to use)

hit ctrl+f, type windowedwidth, you should see something like this:

WindowedWidth=1280
WindowedHeight=768
Width=1280
Height=768
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WidthWindowed=1280
HeightWindowed=768

change it to this:

WindowedWidth=800
WindowedHeight=600
Width=800
Height=600
FullscreenBitsPerPixel=32
FullscreenRefreshRate=0
WidthWindowed=800
HeightWindowed=600

I'm using 800 x 600 here, but you may need to fiddle with that a bit. If 800 x 600 isnt working, try using your monitors native resolution instead. Eventually, you will get a combination that works, just keep trying.

Default I should have mentioned

I tried that and used every combination I could think of working from 800/600 all the way to my screen resolution of 1920/1080. My ini file didn't show the complete list but only WidthWindowed and HeightWindowed, I first tried just updating those numbers, when that didn't work I manually put in the rest of the list and tried updating numbers again...still nothing. Not sure where to got from here....[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Default List of parameters I tried

1920/1080, 1680/1050, 1600/1200, 1440/960, 1440/900, 1400/1050, 1280/1024, 1280/960, 1280/854, 1280/800, 1152/768, 1024/768, 854/548, 800/600. I also threw in some other numbers .. does anyone have other suggestions that might address the problem? I so want to play, this is so frustrating. ..

Its almost always a resolution problem

Id try right clicking EQ icon on desktop > Properties, run it in compatibility mode for Vista or earlier, Run as administrator, and click the 640x480 resolution button. See if that gets you in game. If that doesnt work, try adjusting resolution via OptionEditor application inside the EQ folder. Also never put EQ installation inside Program Files directory, it causes issues.
