Default An idea...

Since everyone knows the early bugs, camps, nerfs at the start of Kunark. Why not keep them during the p99 release, but make them random with different items? That way it will have that early "feeling" of trying to camp something you just found out had a extreme drop rate, but not everyone knowing about it.

I tried suggesting that earlier.

People don't want change, they don't want adventure, they want predictability.

However, they'll challenge this with "I want Classic, no changes! (except positive ones that help me)." It's not about the classic experience, it's about keeping things the way they were so it's easily exploitable.

No offense, but to be fair you are playing on an emulated server of a 10 year old game which is named Project 1999 and seeks to relive the classic era. While everything can't be 100% its as close as possible.

If you were looking for change, or something less predictable... well... one might suggest trying a video game that isn't based on 10 year old content/expansions?

There's plenty of 'custom content' servers on the emu list if you want a variety, something new, something different but the same old everquest feel.

Just seems like this is one of those servers where you should really know what you're walking into =p

I dont know, I dont run the servers so I cant make the change, I just thought it would a nice surprise once and awhile. While I love reliving the old world, a big part of me is begging for some surprises, not a lot, just some.

This ^^

The suggestion is fine, but it won't happen. And that's not because this is a server full of people just wanting to exploit the game and get the mememe's. It's because on THIS server, most of us want either a do-over, or a recreation. I don't want a different experience, if I wanted that I'd be playing one of the many random MMO releases that came out this month. What I DO want is essentially a very vivid walk down memory lane.

As the quote says, there are dozens of other servers in the EMU queue. One of those might be up your alley if you want custom content or alterations.

I don't think switching the loot around would change the experience at all. It'd still be very Classic, as no one would know exactly which mob to kill for what.

It would actually be bringing it CLOSER to classic. The mobs will all be the same, it'll have the same feel, the camps will be the same, etc. The only difference will be the need to figure out which mob will drop what loot. To dungeon crawl like what people had to do in Classic.

It would not be a different experience at all.

I think if you are wanting custom content, this is not the server for you. I would prefer to not have it changed. Most of us would hate that. And yes, it would be a different experience.
