Server population/community

Hey, guys. A friend of mine was thinking of coming back to EQ but wanted to play on a pvp server. I said I'd make a dude with him but he asked a few questions I was hoping you guys might be able to answer. Basically, we were just wondering if there is a significant enough population that you can actually find groups or join guilds that do content. Also, does anyone really raid here, do epics, etc? Lastly, how is the pvp action? is it more focused in the lower levels like teens and 20s, or is there a lot of top end pvp like 50s and 60?

you can find groups. plenty of new people are starting up all the time or making twinks. you're going to get griefed along the way so if you aren't down for that might want to reconsider. yes to raiding/epics/etc several guilds can help you with that. pvp is so-so. one guild runs around with 2-3 times the number of everyone else.

You can duo to 50+ easy.

All guilds do epics.

Holocaust does all end game content.

Fresh is up and coming.

Azrael and FoH farm group content. FoH is currently working on Guk and Azrael has made it's way to Kunark.

fresh is the only guild that really helps lower level players start out on the server; they're building a higher level core and have started to tackle entry-level raid content on their own

holocaust is by far the most dominant endgame raiding guild; they kill 99% of raid mobs that spawn every week, including everything in veeshan's peak, but they only recruit people in their mid-to-late 50s

the curse is a newer guild that is starting to recruit and they seem to mostly be in their 30s and 40s; not sure exactly what their plans are, but i heard their plan was to stay low 50s and attempt raid content while being out of pvp level range to holocaust

azrael is a guild that attempts endgame content but has been a cyclical failure for the past several years; their focus really isn't on building a guild but instead trying to grief people, bend the rules as often as they can, and frame/bait others in order to get them suspended/banned

friends is a group of geared out and high level players that used to be azrael core but left the guild due to being sick of the leadership and direction of azrael; they seem to have tight recruitment, their core has a large percentage of european players, and they don't seem to have many goals outside of attempting to down low-tier raid content with small numbers while the larger guilds are fighting over the high-tier mobs

tl;dr if you like zerging and being a warm body but love pixels join holocaust. if you don't you have other options.
