Cool Wizard Erudites starting stats

Starting a wizard I am going to make a Erudite. The starting stats that I was going to do is 25 int and 5 Agi or 5 Str. Increasing str for carrie weight would be great, but i read on the wiki that below 75 agi you take a hit on ac. But I cant find how big the hit is. Since I am going to be doing ranged combat and plan on not getting hit should i just do +5 str?

Most would recommend putting the 5 points into agi to avoid the AC Penalty upon creation. this also avoids having to keep an agi piece of gear on your character to make up for it.

This post attempts to explain more about the AC Penalty.

str is fairly easy to find on items also. combine that with weight reduction bags in the future. I say the 5 points in agi sounds pretty damn important.

This thread also has a short version:

Agi is unnecessary especially on Blue. You will get items that bump your agility over 75 no problem. If you are a naked Red nub those AC points would come in handy, but you can get handouts items on Blue that will bump you over 75 no problem.

Putting 25 points into Intelligence will put you over the softcap of 200 easily, especially in Velious. There are many wizards in Kunark right now that rolled 25 points into intelligence and they are even over the hardcap of 255, where the extra int points are completely useless. Under 200 its about 11 mana per int point at lvl 60, and over 200 its about 5.something mana per point. In Velious it will be very easy to hit 255 int even with only Erudite base intelligence. You want to have as few Int points over 200 as possible, unless your gear is so uber you can't help it.

People will say that putting points into Stamina is a waste (especially with the P99 bluebie broscience hot air floating around) but I will disagree. 25 Stamina works out to be 60Hp at level 60. Red players roll Stamina on wizards, and if you are adventuring you will rarely sit to max mana, which is the only time a deep mana pool is beneficial. Velious bosses have shit tons of HP and the lure clicky staff is going to be a key item for a Wizard to do damage, not an extra 100something to your mana pool.

I also look at it this way. A Bone Clasped Girdle adds 75 Hp, has no saves, and people pay a nice chunk of change for it. People camp dragons for hundreds of hours shitting and pissing in bedpans to get a Crown of Rile or a Robe of the Azure Sky, which among other great stats add 75 and 85hp respectively. 60Hp is certainly not trivial and there are few items that add that much HP.

I would do a Stamina heavy roll, and put the remainder into Strength, especially with Velious coming. With half decent gear those 25 int point over softcap work out to be not even one single nuke. Take it or leave it. 99% of the Blue server will tell you something different.

Put it all in Str and be a loot whore. You're a silk class so you don't even need to waste encumbrance on carrying heavy equipment!
