Default Bow's n Rangers.

I am a ranger on red and have been trying to get the Trueshot bow quest going. I cant find any one with Brewing skill and i think it would be a waste if I put money into it to get the bow. I dont want to spend 1k to get it, So my questions is whats a good second best I can get. I am lvl 22.

It might be quicker for you to just farm the quest pieces and brute force the combines.

I've done it with a couple of rangers on here and live. It seems like you always have a 5% chance to succeed, maybe I am just lucky, but the quest components are so easy to horde up I found it the easiest way to get my trueshots.

Other than the look of the bow why not just get a http://wiki.project1999.com/Runed_Oak_Bow for 100 plat, has more range, better ratio??

Can't you just get Tumpy Irontoe to brew up the Tumpy Tonics for you? You hand him a Kiola Nut and a Flask of Water.

It's fairly cheap to get your fletching into the 100's, probably under 100pp. Possibly even less than 100pp to get to about 168. Just farm up enough microservos for 4-6 combines (8-12 micro servos). Get huge batches of the rest of the mats, they aren't hard to get stacks of. You're bound to get at least 1 success in 4-6 combines unless you're pretty unlucky, if you skill is in the 100's.

The steamfont piece is enough of a pain in the ass to get to drop that brute forcing a combine scares me to think about. I can spend 30 mins getting the micros for one bow easily.

Chance of success = MIN(SKILL - (.75*trivial) + 51.5, 95) -- this is for things w/ trivial higher than 68.

100 skill (100 - (.75*235) + 51.5 = 100 - 176.25 + 51.5= -24.75 = 5%
150 skill (150 - (.75*235) + 51.5 = 150 - 176.25 + 51.5= 25.25%
175 skill (175 - (.75*235) + 51.5 = 175 - 176.25 + 51.5= 50.25%
200 skill (200 - (.75*235) + 51.5 = 200 - 176.25 + 51.5= 75.25%

Those are your odds approximately at sub-trivial levels. Also 5% fail on any given combine too, trivial or not.

Yeah I did the brute through method at 116 skill. Failed 3 times and got it on the forth. Got my skill higher and failed 4 times in a row. Nice chart btw Cecily.
