Default 2 week old player

Hello everyone! I just recently started playing on p99 a couple weeks ago and I'm enjoying the game all over again! I started on blue server and currently have a lvl 28 monk but my best friend will be playing the game with me and he doesn't have as much time to play as I do so I was thinking that the red server might be better for us since we'll get bonus exp.

I do have a couple questions since we'll both be new players on the red server.

First, we're thinking of both starting Iksars. I'll be starting an Iksar shaman and my friend will make an Iksar necro. As new players, would you advise against this since we'll be kos everywhere and will make it harder to get spells/vendor/bank?

Also, I'm currently lvling up a cleric solo, he's currently lvl 5, and I'm having a tough time killing stuff for exp. If anyone is leveling up a new character on the red server and want a healbot, send me a message. My clerics name is Heelah and I'm usually on from 5 p.m. central till around 11 or midnight central time on the weekdays and a lot more on weekends. I haven't decided if I want to make this cleric my main yet but if I can find people that lvl up at the same pace I do, I might make him my main instead of my monk on the blue server.

welcome. i think ur duo plan is good as is. monk will be better at pvp later but necro/sham would be a lot of fun dotting your peers. lots of dispelling is done at higher end though

You should be proud of yourself. You are very well spoken for two weeks. Should limit screen time at that age tho to safeguard your neural development.

Necro sham sounds fun. Dont worry about the iksar thing, unless your friend is new and wants to see the cities of norrath. Is your friend also a newborn baby?

Lol. Monk shaman for the win. I moved to red server partly for this reason. My play time can be limiting and don't have countless hours to waste grinding exp.

Iksars are fun. Could also roll a Euridite Necro for better faction, and more base INT letting you focus your other slots on resists. Your friends could roll a Barbarian shaman and (I think) get slam to interrupt gate. You would really appreciate this if you get into high level PvP (especially as dot classes).

I know monk/shaman combo would be the best duo but since we're new players, we won't have any money/gear to do anything. For that reason I thought shaman/necro would be better. We made an erudite wiz/necro last night but my friend couldn't get out of Paineel so that's when I decided we'll just start Iksars haha.

My friend was the one who introduced me to EverQuest when we were in middle school so he's already seen all of Norrath. I just want to try and be in the same starting area since we won't have to waste time traveling and getting a bind somewhere. I figured we can stay in Kunark till 35ish then head out to Velious and do crystal caverns or something.

I'm really enjoying the exp bonus though. I grouped up with a twinked bard last night on my cleric and went from lvl 5 to 9 really fast. It made me wish I would've started on the red server when I first started. In the time it's taken me to lvl to 28 on the blue server, my friend has been able to achieve lvl 6 on his shaman so this exp bonus is going to be very helpful!

If anyone is interested in starting new Iksars with us, feel free to leave a message here or message me in game. Heelah is my clerics name and Garduk will be my shamans name. Thanks again for the advice and hopefully we'll see you in game!
