![]() Hey there. I was wondering if there are any era relevant Velious/NTOV guides out there including basic tactics on bosses, pull strats and so forth.
What are people using as resources? Thanks!

![]() I'm sure each guild has their own little guides / compiled informations.
Basic mob information... AEs, Rampage/Flurry/Enrage ability, Slowability, max hit are mostly all available by perusing Allakhazam. The one difficulty you will probably have is finding out which of the NToV Dragons gate or CH since that isn't really mentioned in the comments. Hint, white Dragons CH, 1 of them gates for some reason. The current prevailing strategy for pulling is to CotH a person in, aggro mob with instant Clickies, instantly gate potion/TL Box to a zoneline, start a counter train, use runes/heals to rip aggro from all non-boss mobs, get boss in camp single, and zone out pullers/trainers. Corner tank mob, have solid CH rotation, slow it if possible, have melee dodge AEs if necessary, collect pixels. That about sums it up.

![]() so is there a reason for the crazy ass method of pulling the mobs that way?
When i did this zone on live we just cleared to the named dragons and fought them at their spots.

![]() Because they must be killed within 5 min of spawning otherwise another guild will.
A classic NToV crawl will never happen on P99 again until either there is just one high end guild remaining or they enforce some sort of rotation or raid suspension.

![]() that is too bad, and it really sucks you have to put in such crazy effort to get the claim on these dragons. Why cant the guilds raiding NToV come to some kind of agreement. I mean surely yall don't enjoy doing it this way, do you?

![]() Depends on who you ask.
For one, I like that EQ allows you to use mechanics to skip pointless trash clears. What I don't like is what is required to compete. I think the Mage CotHing is dumb and should be removed, and I'm pretty sure the bind spots in ToV that allow this kind of pulling should never have been allowed. Even if they were early Velious allowable, P99 went non-classic in their Kael bind rule restriction day 1 even though that wasn't changed until late Velious. They should've just done the same thing for ToV if the evidence wasn't deemed good enough to make the change anyways. I favor the pulls done now over clearing trash for 6 hours to kill only 4 Dragons though. Crawling through zones of trash once or twice is fine. Doing it week in and week out isn't fun. The dragon fights are more fun than the trash.

![]() The raid scene on this server is pretty awful. It's not as obnoxious on some of the lower tier mobs (most of Kunark, Velious outdoor dragons, Velketor, etc.), but it's still usually an instant engage scenario if you want a chance at a kill. Planar clears are pretty darn classic though, so you can have some high end fun without participating in most of the shenanigans.

![]() There are other servers out there with much more classic raid scenes (due to not having the huge populations P99 does).
I am asking here because I know there is a lot of people here that would have some ideas regarding strats for NTOV and thought it would be fun to read through a guide. Yeah that method of pulling is pretty crazy. I'm on TakP and mobs definitely "leash" and so gating after agroing a mob would not work (the mob would simply "leash" and deagro). Interesting to know how it is done over here though.
