![]() I want in on an activity that isn't limited to the stupid video games i play.
To Indonesia... [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Only in Indonesia (especially Toraja), a corpse is usually being carried up to the grave, but in Toraja, the corpse is woken up letting it walk to its grave (is rarely performed anymore) The corpse is woken up using black magic. This is done because in Toraja the graves/cemetries is placed above limestones mountains. The corpse walks by itself, and its guided by an expert in black magic behind it. But there is one prohibition, the corpse shouldn’t be appointed, once pointed, the corpse falls down and isn’t able to walk again.

![]() I've heard that peoples hands can be frozen in a death grip. I've also heard that sometimes after people die their limbs will spasm. I don't know how a limb could move after death. How would the nerves survive? Would they die all at once or slowly? If there's no energy in the body to power the limb, how does it move? If it does move, where does the energy come from? Is it possible to feed energy into a dead body to make its limbs move?

![]() In most cases these things are nothing more than slight of hand; a parlor trick. After ~80 hours, a body will become somewhat flexible again (rigor mortis will only remain where the blood has pooled) and you could probably make a corpse walk again with typical magician tricks (thin twine, pulleys and the like.) I'd be surprised if a corpse ever walked under low trees for this reason.
To stormlord: As far as a hand "frozen in a death grip", that's actually cataleptic rigidity. Human corpses moving is somewhat common, but it's usually caused by the gases the build up during the stages of decomposition. Electrical impulses from the nervous system is much more rare but it can happen. In the case of this picture, I'm going to go ahead and make a guess that it's a live person with leprosy and chronic uremia. | ||
