![]() I solved this issue on my mac today Spit.
You have to manually copy the files inside the uifiles folder into your current one so that they supplement the uifiles you already have, instead of overwriting it.

![]() I just did a fresh reinstall and all is well. I'd recommend you all do that instead of trying to find out what's causing this headache.

![]() I reinstalled an old backed up UI folder and it solved the problem, now to get my old UI to work again.

![]() Had the same problem.
It was caused when I updated the patch. Instead of opening the unifies folder (that came in the patch) and dragging the contents into the existing unifiles folder, I just dragged the folder. This appeared to replace the whole folder deleting the original files that were needed but not being updated with the patch. As a result the game could not find the old UI "default" files, because they were gone. HOW I FIXED IT There is a "Default-Old" folder in "unifies" which comes with the basic game and which I did not update. I simply renamed it to "default" and the game ran fine, albeit with a slightly different UI than before. Using that default I was able to rebuild my old UI folders. Hope this helps.
