Default windowed mode goes black

so...i upgraded my graphics card and now when i try to run windowed mode everything blacks out and i can ONLY play it on full-screen which is the opposite of most people's problems.

my resolution is 1920x1200 and i can't figure this out. i've tried messing with all the eq ini files to make sure the resolutions are set correctly. i've tried combinations. i've tried reinstalling eq.

has anybody had any luck with this problem? i'm using the geforce 980m graphics card.

I am having the same problem, basically. I can load into EQ, but after i am in game, i have graphics issues, and then the screen goes black. Other then no visual the game is still running properly.

Everything else i do online or off is running fine, it is just in EQ that i am having a problem. Any help would be massively appreciated.

That is not true, I can run full screen and toggle between fullscreen and windowed without issues and I have 2 monitors. I don't use wineq.
I'll record a video if you don't believe me.

In my experience when my windowed is black I have to toggled from windowed to full screen back to windowed.
Alt+Enter

On rare occasion it will say reset device failed() but that's a known issue that will never be resolved on the titanium client.

grats then because anyone else i have talked to has never been able to get fullscreen on dual monitors. I just use to play on windowed 800x600 cause well thats what i was use to for years.

Same thing happening to me after an update to the newest Gefore drivers. Running the game in native resolution with WinEQ the game loads and the mouse icon changes but the EULA graphics never appear. I think it has less to do with the new graphics card and more to do with the drivers for that card.

No clue how to fix it. When I run EQ from the p99 folder it plays fine but I want fullscreen not 1600x1080

I have a similar issue, When I window and then Toggle back to Full screen the edges are over stretched beyond the screen by a bit ( Scaling ), I can go into the small EQ window and reset the Resolution back to 1920 X 1080 that fixes it until I window again. And On occasion the screen will blink black 3 - 5 seconds then it comes back,, Then it is good for a bit then repeats this problem, At first I thought this was due to a failing video card but this ONLY happens in Game.

I have gotten this intermittently at times. Not solid, but pointing my cam to certain positions within a zone would cause the client screen to flicker out to black. Initially I would restart the client to fix. One day I fiddled with refresh rate settings (I set max to 70) and the problem stopped reoccurring. I'm using wineq2 and with geforce drivers. Also I'm not using an override.

I just hit alt+enter and it fixes. Maybe my issue is different, though...
