Just as a point of clarification, the drums were never removed. The zone was just revamped in 2003 and the mob temporarily disappeared. It still exists on live though because they put it back.

Should always drop on P99, though it is certainly a rare drop from a very rare spawn. Best of luck with the best in slot drum sale!

It should be mentioned come the October 2001 patch, the bard epic will provide its modifier in the offhand. Meaning on raids a bard will be using a primary instrument and epic in offhand. There are a few options for primary usable instruments for most instrument types...

Silverwing Lute for Stringed
PoSky Horn for Brass
PoSky Flute for Wind (lol)

This drum though is the top and only primary usable percussion mod. Buy this item up, it's BiS for any smart bard on a raid. Top selos speed, best Occlusion modifier, etc.
