![]() Level 9... get SoW, cast it on yourself, run to EC, someone will probably help you.
Otherwise, join the honorable path and join <Auld Lang Syne>. Never receive outside help or items. Get started by hunting willowisps and buying a Combine magic weapon from the gypsies.

![]() Find a lvl 44+ mage or go to Ec and find a 44+ mage and get him to summon you a mod rod. 1hb 9/26 magic weapon. It will last until you log out or you can corpse it if you dont feel like running back each time you log on.
Save up all your money and you should be able to find a poison wind censor for 400-500 which is the weapon of choice until you hit 50.

![]() Some helpful tips to low level exp with minimal to no gear (new player experience).
1) Leveling with just cloth armor and rusty weapons (even solo) is completely possible, it just requires a lot of patience and lowered expectations. For some classes it may be harder. But for shaman it is very do-able 2) Be mindful of what you can kill, and what is worth your resources to kill. At level 9 you will have a very limited mana pool, certain spells wont even be worth using. This goes for pretty much all caster classes, there is a lot of spells that simply put are not very good in terms of mana to damage or overall effect. 3) Specifically for low level shaman (9): At level 9 your main go to combat spells will be > Spirit of the Wolf (9), Tainted breath (9), Sicken (5), Frost Rift (5) , and Inner Fire (1). The journey 9 to 14 can be a little rough for shaman solo, and admittedly its probably easier to group at this point. But if you want to go it solo keep in mind you don't have many methods of splitting mobs up, and around this level not all npc's are wondering around solo and some social aggro *depending on race starting location* And fighting 2 Npc's at once with minimal or no gear and just spells usually does not turn out well for a low level shaman. Focus on things you know you can kill that are solo pulls even if that means waiting for respawns to keep spawns "broken" (apart from one another so only ever have to fight 1 at a time) 4) Retreating with SoW - Don't feel that you have to stay and eat a death if combat is not going your way. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS keep SoW on yourself and don't encumber yourself, very few NPC's in the game outrun SoW, and few if none at all by level 9 can. If combat is not going your way book it with your run speed to the gaurd's or a zone-line this will save you some exp. If you are going to retreat Just make sure you make that choice before your health goes Red (very low health) as this will make you run slower, negating the effect of SoW and allowing the enemies to catch you still. 5) Kiting with SoW - Try to never face tank multiple mobs at the same time. Even if a camp forces you to fight multiple mobs at once. Nuke 1 down taking no damage by nuking from distance (with Frost Rift -5), running away with SoW and max range nuking the one your dumping mana to kite kill even if it eats all your mana, tanking multiple mobs while only damaging one is always a bad trade early levels. Its much more efficient to kite kill 1 with SoW and Frost Rift, take 0 dmg, and then turn around and melee the remaining enemy down with 0mana. 6) Use Inner Fire to heal yourself after fights (during only in emergencies): Inner Fire heals for 20hp, but only costs 10mana this is 2hp for every 1mana spent - which is greater than light healing which is 25mana and heals for 26 to 33 health (barely over 1:1) 7) Location Location Location: This really depends on starting race - But as stated, be on the lookout for mobs you can solo pull that will provide exp in area's safe from adds, Shaman really has no tools at level (9) to deal with adds, aside from SoW to run away or attempt a kite. You wont need many spawns for the resources you have and have to use per mob kill if you have no starter gear or hand-me downs so don't fret if you are only killing 2 or 3 spawns over and over again. I myself (Ogre shaman) was killing 2 spawns outside Guk (Froglok Guards) at level 9 I believe and that is all I had the mana / health for after healing and using mana for DoT's to kill them between spawns. I then moved onto an Orc camp in SRO when I got level 10 and only killed 2 static spawn locations as well over and over again. Shaman to my experience (no twink gear, from scratch) is a bit rough starting out, but starts getting a lot better with their spells at level 24 on up. But is still completely doable even solo if you are extremely patient or knowledgeable of the game.

![]() 24 was a huge jump in power for my barbarian shaman.
I levelled him up in the newbie area, then the gnolls outside black burrow, then the tundra and finally permafrost. His gimmick is never leaving Halas/Everfrost/Permafrost, and only using equipment I can find there. I saved some pp and brought a vendor purchased Two-Handed Warhammer, which did a decent enough job at caving in goblin skulls (with a little help from some dots and nukes of course)! That's a top tip worth repeating: EVERY character should keep their defence maxed.
