Default Smithing Skill-ups?

After looking at all the posts on wayback and my very old EQ tradeskill folders I can not seem to find the correct skill-up path.

Banded goes to 115 but none of the old recipes I have found seem to work post 115. What are people doing past 115 Fine Steel?

Thanks

Gaf

Yup fine plate is pretty much your only option until the tradeskill revamp which won't happen for a bit.

I stopped at 115 for just that reason.
I have only ever had 1 person actually ask me to make fine plate for them.

I can wait till more recipes become available, as ther'es no reason to need the higher skill yet.

Which is exactly what I'm doing as well! =)

Now if only we can get those darn thick grizzly bear skins replaced with the regular ones.

Plenty of regular ones drop. Just not in the commonlands while you are watching the auction go by. Get thee to the Karanas. You'll get more than enough.

While that may be true, thick grizzly bear skin should not be in the game taking up that slot on the loot table. And that being said, I've probably seen dozens of thick grizzly bear skins drop in EC and WC.

I do appreciate you mentioning the Karanas as a good alternative though! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

/end derail

Do you mean regular grizzly bear skins in EC and WC? Because i've hunted there with about 5 different characters for collectively 12 or so levels, and never seen a single regular grizzly bear skin drop off any of the bears in EC or EC - Black bears, Young Kodiaks, or Kodiaks. Not one.

I even farmed the bears for a while on my ranger and killed them for very long periods of time - got tons of HQ bear skins, but never a single regular grizzly bear skin.

Tips for a profitable smithing experience in everquest:
Step 1: Pour kool-aid into Large Round Glass Pitcher.
Step 2: Pour cyanide into said mixture.
Step 3: Inquire into any fellow everquest smithing aficionados.
Step 4: Have a gathering with said kool-aid. Darwin theory in action.

Smithing is useless

It's worthless

Kill yourself.

Indeed, but unlike jewelcrafting, fletching, hell even tailoring(used in fleeting quiver), brewing, cooking. Smithing leaves you with a sore ass and nothing to show4it.
