Default back after about ~15 years.

Hey guys, Ive played on p1999 a couple years back but only for a couple months. Before that I was on Bertox roughly 2001-2004 (i think..) Im expecting some things will be the same and some will be different, couple questions:

-Is freeport/EC/WC usually occupied and the "hub" it used to be or is it a ghost town most of the time? asking because i always loved starting characters in that area because of how lively it is, but if that kind spot is somewhere else now, id love to know about that

-What are some of the most looked after classes? Im assuming the answer to this might be different than back in the day, considering much less players

EC is the trading hub, tons of people to buff you around the tunnel.

Looked after classes are clerics and shamans. Most other classes are abundant.

If you plan on joining a raiding guild, cleric is as usual the best bet, rogues and wizards are also usually welcome as they are stackable DPS.

Welcome back to P99. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
P99 is in a far more complete and era accurate state than it ever has been. You should be pleasantly surprised.

EC tunnel has several dozens of people during low pop and over 100 people during prime time. You'll always find people trading and hanging out there.

Clerics and Rogues are always in demand. I'd dispute shamans being In Demand now-a-days. As the class's population on the server is higher than ever. Monks also also always in demand for pulling and dps. Warriors and Rangers are in demand for raid tanking via discipline. SK is in demand for trash tanking. Druids aren't in demand and they're the most played class. But porting classes are technically by nature in demand, wiz, drood..

Best of luck. Always feel free to ask questions! Search the forums and the wiki too!

Bertoxxulous all the way! I was on that server around the same time. Welcome back.

The most frequented areas seem to be Freeport and Faydwer areas. Crushbone, Unrest, Oasis, and Mistmoore all have good populations during peak hours. Erudin, Qeynos areas, and Velious seem to be underpopulated.

Most needed classes seem to be healers and tanks. Necros, druids, monks, shamans, and enchanters seem to be common. Ultimately play what you like. If you have your class down pat, people will want to group with you. I really helped make these groups in Guk and ToFS work as my bard and they begged me to come back the next day despite bards being decently common.

Was also on Bertoxxulous from Sept 1999. Witness Brad McQuaid farewell departure right after release of Kunark on worldwide chat in Qeynos Hill camping Pyzjin. I thought, who the hell is he?. Moved to 7th Hammer and then Antonious Bayle. But I was playing on Rallo Zek mostly with AD guild kicking asses.

I'm about to jump back in after about the same time. Had to give a shout out to Bertoxx as well!
