![]() Hi guys! I've been playing MMO's for the better part of my gaming career but never did experience EQ back in the day. I booted up the game not too long ago and was insanely lost, and I loved it. However, a little direction would be nice, haha. More helpful tips than anything. Thanks!

![]() Welcome to EQ, Hath!
I just started playing after quite a long hiatus and the wiki has helped me a lot for those little questions I want a quick answer, map/quest reference, etc. Each map page has a list of quests specific to that zone. If you don't mind a bit of light reading (think Hermione here), Dumbledorf posted a great intro to the game right here on the forums, Norrath in a Nutshell: https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=41480 . Many of the links in it are dead but the post itself is chalk full of good stuff. I didn't see it mentioned on their respective skill pages on the wiki, so I'll mention it here: there are a couple skills you have to train one point in with your Guildmaster before the game will let you start skilling up in them: Sense Heading (which will tell you what direction you're facing), and Meditate (only necessary for casters but you can't train this until your first spell upgrades, either level four or five depending on class ... later for hybrid classes maybe? Someone else will have to confirm as I've never played any of those). You may have figured some of this out, but I had to look it up / figure it out so I'll include it just in case: In order to make a Sense Heading button, use Ctrl + A to open your Actions window, click one of the open actions slots, and choose Sense Heading from the menu. To move a key from the Actions window (or any other tab in that window, or the spell bar), click and hold your left mouse button on the button and it'll hover over your cursor). The skill may seem useless at first, but as soon as you train that one point, you can level the skill all the way to max at level one and it's really handy when you have no other frame of reference. If you went with Titanium's default UI, you'll see a tooltip; be careful of using the info in it because it's not always accurate (it's written for more modern versions of the game). For example, after you die it'll say that you don't have to go find your corpse until after you hit level nine. That may be true for modern EQ, but not here. Personally, I just disabled the tooltip entirely. In the options menu, check out the hotkey setup. There's a tab that lists a bunch of helpful Ctrl + <Key> options. Here are a couple of my favorite (these are set to default): q - melee attack, so I can clean up a space on my hotbar for something else ctrl + s - sit ctrl + b - open spellbook ctrl + x - log out alt + # (any 1-8 number above qwerty keys) - cast spell # on spell bar Hope you enjoy your adventure!

![]() Thanks for the response!
I've read through most everything I can here on the website, it was fairly helpful. I found the wiki last night as I was falling asleep so I've been reading through it a little here today. To answer your question, I'm a high elf enchanter at their starting city (can't remember the name).
