![]() Hi, I made this thread on reddit and someone there suggested I try here.
I've recently gotten back into P1999 (loving it!). I mostly play on my gaming rig, but decided I wanted to put in on my Linux laptop for playing when I'm traveling. I didn't have much trouble setting it up with Wine -- just copied over my Windows installation -- but I'm having this weird issue where I have these little black dots running all over my screen constantly (only in-game). They appear for a fraction of a second and move constantly, like static on a TV, and appear both on my external monitor and the laptop's built-in screen. Here is a screenshot: https://imgur.com/TrRjYZQ The game is otherwise very playable (and of course fun!). Just wondering if anybody else had seen this sort of behavior before, and hopefully found a solution. I've tried this with both the default UI and Duxa UI; same issue either way. I googled around but didn't find much; thanks! | ||

![]() I run EQ in WINE (Mint, so basically the same as Ubuntu) and have no issues. What you describe sounds to me like it might be a graphics card driver issue. I'd recommend getting the latest OSS driver for your card, and if that doesn't work then try the latest proprietary driver (or just skip to the proprietary one, either way).

![]() I did manage to update my drivers (went to proprietary), and while this did solve the issue in the character select screen, once I get into the world the problem recurs. Any further help would be much appreciated (though I suppose I could play it as-is in a pinch)!
