The police are a blunt instrument...you get them rounding up illegals, they get the easy ones first. Not the ones hidden in some gangbanger's house, armed to teeth, no one knows is there.

Edit: I guess what I'm saying is...are you sure some hardline ultra controversial illegal round up is really going to get rid of that illegal crime? How about all those wasted resources?

I think maybe just limited illegal's access to USA welfare is the better method. This was my Russian professor's idea (that's what they do in Russia -- works fine)..he also said point blank that authoritarianism works better in multi-cultural societies than homogeneous ones...which do fine with more liberal ideas.
