![]() Haven't played in years, was overexcited to see project1999 comments at Youtube and I had to see for myself. Finally got everything set up and created a player to look around, now spending the day to decide what race/class to play.
Some questions with likely obvious answers: Clerics can't really solo in classic EQ right? I never played one, but doing damage was something they could not do much of when it was 1999 so I'm assuming they are forced to group? I like to group but most of the time I have about 20-30 min to play and that just isnt feasible. Would I be living a pipe dream to think I could solo 3/4 of my time to level 50? We can duel? If so, can Enchanters use Charm on players like they could in 1999? Is it against the rules to pay real money for items in game from either the folk here or players in game? Only asking. I'll check FAQ again but didn't see anything about this initially. Again, thanks for making the server possible, I'm so friggin excited to play again

![]() I haven't been able to charm players in duels as a bard. RMT is against the rules.

![]() Clerics can solo, it's just that your choices are limited and grouping will be faster.
Anywhere with a large number of undead and a decent ZEM (although not totally necessary) would work

![]() Trading P99 wealth (platinum, items, etc) for anything outside of P99 (platinum, items, accounts, etc) will get you banned.
Clerics can solo, but generally grouping is faster and better. Once you're higher level you can do some pretty mean damage to undead. You'll always be limited to soloing undead if you want to be efficient.

![]() Clerics can solo, but are not terribly good at it. If you can find good places to solo undead then you are in better shape.
Mages and necros solo the best in classic, although mages get hosed a bit from 50-60. Shamans and ench both solo pretty well also, with shamans being insanely powerful in the high 50s. At level 60 a shaman is likely the most powerful soloer in the game. Real money trades are not allowed, they will ban all accounts involved. You can see the sticky thread on the East Commons section of the forum.

![]() Thanks for the info. I had forgotten that Clerics do well vs the Undead.
Didnt realize enchanters were good for soloing in classic

![]() It really depends on the level range. Very early on (1-12 or so) pet classes solo easily (nec, mag, enc). Enchanter pets begin to not get very good after that, and your ability to charm is also lackluster, which means you'll be grouping a lot. 40+ or so, Enchanters are very good soloers with charm. By the same means, Shaman are decent soloers 1-50 but they really shine 50+ and especially at 60. This is around the same time that Necromancers' and Magicians' ability to solo declines a bit, but they're still always by far 2 of the best soloers in the game.

![]() Shamans are pretty awful until 24-27ish, then bad until 34, then they are great.

![]() Welcome to the server! Hope you find a class/race that you enjoy playing [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I personally had a lot of fun leveling up a shaman. They are pretty good soloers and you can play them in a variety of ways, and they're almost always requested in groups if you ever do find more than 30 minutes to play.
