The lore of Guk and Trolls

So lore-wise we know the Ogres were cursed into being the stupid lumbering oafs we know and love but IDK anything about the origin of the Trolls. While in Guk I noticed this wall art which looks like Trolls wearing Egyptian-like clothing. Did the Trolls originally build Guk? Were they Kangz at one point?
