![]() when trying to sell something, fucking tell the person what it is.
jesus christ. i'm trying to acquire my 55+ cleric spells. i do some /auc WTB in game, also posted on the board here. the only replies I get are "make me an offer", which i do, and they don't even bother replying. why bother having me make an offer, if you aren't going to respond with a counter? douche bags p.s. every 55+ spell isn't worth 10k. the majority of them suck, or are teeny tiny upgrades that aren't worth even 500pp

![]() I suspect you and I are in the minority, but I agree.
I was /auc'ing to buy some mid-level gear for my brother in law whos just starting and I'd estimate that 7 of 10 auctions, the seller wanted me to make an offer. Inane junk like bloodstained mantle. Really? you're lvl 53 and want to haggle over a75p item? GTFO. I respond to 'offer' with 'Ok, thanks.'

![]() One of my pet peeves as well. I guess selling is such serious business that one can't be bothered with letting people actually know how much pp is wanted for an item - buyers should obv just know.
Might as well put the Bazaar in and call it done.

![]() FYI saying "offer" isn't just about trying to get as much profit as possible. It can also be about helping people out. If I'm selling some item that can fetch like, say, 400p, and someone asks how much, and I say offer, and they reply with "All I have is 80p but that's probably low" I can do /target [persons name] and if I see them standing there with banded armor on their level 15 ranger, I'll hook them up for the 80p or maybe even less. I do that all the time when selling mid level necro research spells. They ask how much for a set of level 34 spells, I tell them whatever it's worth to them. Some people with crappy gear give me like 20p per spell, some uber twinks give me 500p per spell, either way I am satisfied with how the deal went down.
But yes, some people do act like bags of dicks about the whole "offer" thing.

![]() Basically when you tell me to make an offer, you're saying that either~
1) you haven't got the foggiest clue of what the item is worth or 2) you are a douchebag that would rip someone off given the opportunity.

for 1) auction.goonquest.com will put you in the general neighborhood. I use that to know *about* what something is worth within 15% for 2) that's why I don't play the game. The seller obviously has a minimum price in mind. If they're willing to tell me what they'd like to get, I'll deal. If they're trying to prey on a buyer paying 1k for a 600p item, they can go to hell.

And spare me your stupid white knight bullshit with comment 2, you'd do the same fucking thing as anyone else who was trying to sell an item if you could get more for it.

Think what you want. Here's a re-creation of my last purchase, a Charred guardian Shield. This is not exaggerated and no, I didn't get a screenshot. Seller: WTS Charred Guardian shield, [other stuff], [other stuff] Me: How much are you asking for the shield? Seller: offer Me: 350p? Seller: I'd take 650. Me: Ok thanks. That's more than I'm comfortable paying. Seller: Proly cuz you're a Jew. Me: LoL.
