Scroll Wheel Zoom in - out

I love playing on Teal, but recently a flaw is preventing me from playing. After a recent death, my camera was stuck in first-person and the scroll wheel was not zooming in or out from the character. Things I have tried:

1. F12 - this is not the source of the problem
2. F9 - this is not the source of the problem
3. I have bound a key to "toggle first-person" under the camera section and this fixed the issue once - I died again and the camera is back in the first-person view - the bound key doesn't function
4. deleted the eqclient.ini file - does not correct the issue
5. complete deinstall and reinstall of the game - problem still there
6. I tried the alt+switch to full screen and back to window mode - this fixed it once but after a death, the problem returned and this doesn't work any longer

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
