Can't Log Into Server

Started playing a couple days ago, and now today everytime I try to connect to the Project 1999 server I get this error message, Error 1018: You currently have an active character on that EverQuest Server, please allow a minute for synchronization and try again.

I havn't logged in since last time, and I have waited a few hours between attempts but I still can't get in. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
