Default New to P99 Question

So this is exactly what I would be interested in playing if I were to play an MMO again. I only ever had classic+Kunark, even when I played EQlive for a month 4-years ago (on one of the classic servers). From looking at the EQEmu and some other forums, it seems like P99 has one of the bigger communities and the throw back atmosphere that I would be most interested in.

Before I buy a new copy of EQ (with expansions), I had a few questions that my skimming of the forum and FAQ didn't answer. So to play P99, you log in through EQEmu and then pick the P99 server, similar to how in EQlive you log in and then pick the server you want?

I think the answer to my first question is 'yes', and if it is not, then my next question is useless. I know P99 says you have to use Titanium and there is some support for SoF and this is due to the fact that the patcher changes with each version of the game. The EQEmu site has support for the Steam Downloadable Underfoot as well. Is the difference that P99 makes its own patches which other EQEmu servers don't make, allowing them to use the Underfoot client?

I'm not complaining (well not really) that I can't use the Underfoot version, I just want to understand things, as it would be such much easier to buy and download Underfoot then it will be to find a copy of Titanium. (Does anyone have any specific suggestions to finding Titanium? I only saw 4 Mint copies of it on ebay).

Thanks for reading. Hopefully I'll get to join you online soon enough, especially in Crushbone and Estate of Unrest!
