Character Slots when Green / Blue Merge

As is the plan eventually that Green will at some point merge with Blue, what will happen to character slots? Also a similar thing happened when Teal merged with Green, but what was the final result? And what will be the solution for years down the line for character slots?

It's a possibility but we are talking like 3 years down the line. I dont think it's at all set in stone either. I personally never want a merge because Blues economy is wacko

Currently, you can delete characters to have characters below those listed show up.

I heard someone say on live they had an arrow to scroll down and you just couldn't make new characters? I'm not sure what timeline that was however.
