Default Begging skill

Hey guys, for the sake of it I want to raise my begging, fishing and other silly skills.

Just wondered on what people's strategy was when it comes to begging (wink wink, not including milling around naked in the EC tunnel demanding free stuff).

Is it possible to use pets to raise skill?

Do all NPCs give a chance? I know Lucky the Beggar (irony) and Monala in Erud's Crossing are low level examples and begging can be raised there (so greens definitely work), but what about animals/undead etc - is there a chance for a skillup there?

Completely useless skill, but when bored it can be fun to have a go.

My old Prima Kunark Strategy guide says it's a good idea to practice begging from your pets. I don't know how this translates into real-world practice... to me it seems like playing ping pong against a wall but whatever.

In 99/00 I had Begging maxed on my necro and it is completely useless I promise you. It really is a complete waste of time.

I beg from the captain's skiff on the way to Kunark. It's amusing to hear the skiff bitch at you about what a thief you are.

Read my signature. I mostly got begging this high by sitting (or feigned) beside a bank guard. Not recommended for anyone, but especially non-feigners.

Yes yes, completely trivial...but a challenge! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Have you had skill increases from the skiff?

Yah I get about 5 skill ups per trip begging from the skiff - I suppose if you wanted to you could just ride it continuously and work on the skill.
