Default Ability to Bind in Dungeons

This is just a copy/paste of what i wrote out in a thread where someone mentioned that.. you guys can bind in Sebilis on p99!? And I know that casters originally could bind ANYWHERE (including dungeons) but that that changed.... I thought during classic but I can't prove that with what I have below. Anyway here it is, maybe will look more later:

So i did some digging around just to check up on what i said above.. this link contains some info, definitely shouldnt be able to bind in sebilis. but i also remember not being able to bind in lower guk on a caster (i remember my brother was bound there, then after they ninja-nerfed bind, he never re-bound and was one of the only ppl left with a bind in guk). anyway, here is wayback link to EQ atlas bind guide, the earliest wayback has it: http://web.archive.org/web/200104280...bindguide.html

note that it is wrong about the velious binds though. they get better here: http://web.archive.org/web/200112170...bindguide.html. but still not complete. also a check in the future of the bind guide shows they stopped updating it as of the link i provide here

some ppl mention how bind works across different eras/continents, and also binding in skyshrine and kael, here: http://www.eqclerics.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5470.

also, some ppl claimed that on different servers there were different zones/areas that were bindable

edit: oh i see you guys already had somewhat of a discussion on bind points in kunark here: http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=18807

lol. i dont want to pk bluebies so much as lay the groundwork for red99. would be pretty retarded fighting over trak for example if everyone was bound down there. or even if just a mage bound down there to CoH ppl/prevent others from checking the camp/camp jugs at the bridge with 0 risk.

binding in dungeons really will make the pvp retarded anywhere. guk, karnors.. anywhere

My Main during the Kunark era of live was a Wizard On Povar, I was bound OUTSIDE Seb for the majority of Kunark because nobody could bind inside.

This should be fixed.

bump for great justice. here's the quote from eq atlas bind guide, taken from wayback in April 2001:

"Exactly where a caster can bind themselves depends on what area of the game we're talking about. In the area of the original game (i.e. Antonica, Faydwer, and Odus) a caster can bind themself anywhere, inside or out. In Kunark and Velious, however, they are only able to bind themselves in outdoor areas, and can not bind themselves in dungeons."

What about outdoor dungeons? Can people still bind themselves in Karnor's, CoM, etc.? And it only affects kunark/velious dungeons like the quote says, right?

it might have been different on different servers (as i recall, the ability to bind in guk for example was removed, at least on pvp servers)

as far as i know, you couldn't bind in a dungeon even if it was an "outdoor" dungeon, which is what the sentence in bold also seems to say. the one exception was CoM, where even melees could be bound. (if you check out the link to the bind guide, it shows this also in the "melee bindable" chart, which also includes specific areas for "noncity" zones such as north karana, overthere, frontier mountains, etc. that melees could still be bound)

This really needs to get fixed. Especially zones like Seb with raid mobs.

It appears to have been nerfed. I could not rebind myself in KC today, while a guildmate could not bind inside Droga.

This was changed, and then changed back - not enough evidence?
