![]() Hello everyone,
I started EverQuest 99 (the first attempt at playing the first EverQuest ever) tonight. I met someone super nice who showed me the ropes on how to move, sell items, equip items and so forth. Great time learning the controls and UI. I decided I would mess about with the options and looked through the keys tab. Little did I know, I accidentally hit the load default tab which took whatever settings I believed were default to something completely different. Long story short, I'm playing on a laptop that does not have a numpad and needed help setting up the controls how they were prior to hitting the load default tab. Does anyone have a screen shot or a page that explains all the controls, to the more modern style? I appreciate any help! Thanks!

![]() I believe all the keybindings are stored in your everquest directory with your character's name in the filename and an extension of ".ini". Use notepad to poke around in these ini files. Make a new character and then cut/paste the keybindings from the new character to your existing one.
Other than that, use the "keys" tab on the options menu to set keybindings to what you want.

![]() Yeah you can copy all the INI files and things like friends lists locally.

![]() Basically you click on stuff. Right click hold to mouse look, and use the arrow keys by default. A is auto attack.
You want settings for nearest NPC, Nearest PC, and cycling through nearest NPc and nearest PC. You can use your number keys for your abilities which you can put spell gems andsuch on. Ideally you are using your keyboard to cast spells and not your mouse. You can make macros like /castspell 1 with pauses and stuff, and /g (group) announcements so you can make a macro that casts a spell and informs your group that you are casting the spell which is usefull if its a group buff or a heal so they don't run out of range and waste your mana, ETC.
