NPC Spawn Issue: Something about Gornit

I did a search for this, it's Not exactly a spawn timing issue.

I recall several years ago, camping Gornit, in OOT. I just went back to him, and it seems his hit box is off. I used to stand on the hill to his left, and snare, root, nuke, all day long. Now, it seems I have to swim within arms reach of him, anything I cast from the same places as before gives me the "You cannot see your target." message. I had to swim underwater to his feet to get him to hit me.
