Mouselooking in Windowed Mode snaps mousearrow to windowbar

So, I play in windowed mode a lot, so I can alt+tab to do other things while I'm waiting for my character's mana to come back. And it seems that almost every time, when I tab back and try to mouse look, the mouse arrow will inevitably snap to the up to bar at the top of EQ's window. Then, because I am usually pressing both mouse buttons and moving the mouse, it grabs the window bar and starts moving the window.

Given that this almost always happens right after I pull something and turn around to run back to my camp, this is understandably.. not ideal. It is in fact incredibly fricking irritating, because right when I need to be focused on dealing with a mob, my window is misbehaving and being incredibly distracting. This doesn't always happen, but it happens often enough that's it's really effecting my enjoyment of gameplay.

Has anyone else been having this problem? And if so, have you found any solutions? I've found that if I make sure to click several times on my character, it happens less often.. but it's still no guarantee that my window won't go haring off randomly in the middle of a fight.

That’s never happened to me, but I mainly play full screen there’s an oddly similar issue when in full screen. Occasionally the game will think the game is windowed and when I try to click on any unit frame or any UI element the game Alt tabs to desktop, this has happened during a Crushbone group and nearly got me killed. I still have no clue what causes it, and yet again similarly to your ‘clicking on your self’ “fix” if I toggle windowed and full screen on and off again it might fix my issue, but it’s never a guarantee last time it happened I had to fully relaunch the game.

I know this didn’t help your issue, but I think in some odd way these two bugs are semi-connected. They share weird connective tissue.

Hi Htabdoolb,

I ran into a lot of issues with trying to get EQ to run in windowed mode. I ended up finding an app called “Borderless Gaming” and it has resolved most of my issues.
