Default 51 Enchanter puzzled at the Hole Entrance, need help

Hello all. Im trying to solo the hole entrance right now. All I get are resists when I attempt to lull the mobs, which always end in a crit resist and I have to swim to zone. Do I just have an unlucky spawn set where they are all at the highest level, or am I dong something wrong? Thanks in advance

charisma close to cap to help with crit lull resists? EC tunnel junk can get you to about 200 then self buff takes care of the rest.

charm randomly breaking is.. random, tash, high charisma, and level difference helps make em last longer but can always break early. As long as you have rune/berserker spirit up a few breaks shouldn't be a huge problem, keep a couple aoe stuns memmed just in case.

RNG gonna RNG sometimes. My charms are usually stable on velks spiders and the other day it broke 5 times in a single fight on a watcher that was tashed, with 255cha.

Sometimes when calming it will work first time on 4 mobs and the 5th one will just resist until crit resist for some reason. Crit resists are annoying but at least we have the toolkit to deal with them.

Never went to the hole but I know its a good mage spot so stuff is probably not too resistant but I remember reading rock golems are very magic resistant if not immune in some cases.

I had a similar experience at the hole entrance at 51. I moved to Howling Stones and stayed there until 60.

Did you move into wings or genocided basement? I know people who got 60 in basement but at 55 I thought xp per kill got slow. The mobs are 42-46.

I've been wing-curious but the logistics of CRs look painful and you rarely have a cleric in zone.

By 55 you should be clearing the north wing IMO - then if you are a glutten for punishment go into south.

But I prefer seb when the deluge of north wing exp starts slowing due to level.

You can move into North safely at 55, maybe as early as 54. North can take you to 60, but I preferred West starting at 58. South is doable in a pinch, but I didn't prefer it for leveling. Too many breaks/resists.

For CR, I recommend corpsing keys or stalking probes on the cliff in OT. Can use the probes to glitch through any of the doors. Alternatively, you can /corpse from the basement hallways that go under the wing, but that requires you dying directly above the hallways.

North wing mobs only have 1 level over basement/ent and you have to break 4packs. Figured I'd wait for bedlam/fetter to smoothen the risk curve.

I thought the exp was meh and I did a stint in frenzy which I loved the vibes (and the money!) but it is taken like 70% of the time so not very reliable. Returned to HS because it is better than nothing and damn, mobs die so much faster compared to the 8k hp average velks spiders, thats a west wing named in HS.

I was either considering sebilis ent to NG or HS north/west but I was leaning toward seb for easier CRs and less key management. Maybe karnor's basement.

I'm also not used to mobs that summon when solo so I was looking for a place to test/practice without getting slapped around too hard.

For corpsing you nuke yourself to somewhat low health but not enough to strip your buffs when zoning, dot yourself, gate and wait to die? I heard you don't lose exp that way?

Yeah I know about basement dragging but you don't always pick your death's location. Not always reliable. I'll have to read on probes I never heard of that one, tried to mess with illusions to get through doors but as a gnome I couldn't get it to work. Could be useful to get into seb crypt too. I'd like to tackle the solo artist challenges eventually so I need to get that stuff figured out.

Thanks guys.

I have 218 CHA buffed. It was just wild I went for almost an hour of just about every mob resisting my lulls. The number of resists dropped once I was able to kill them off slowly. I was just frustrated because I had very few resists the session before.
