![]() *A Story*
Wandering the commonlands, her scimitar at her side Jhaele Silvermane approached the well known locale of the East Commonlands Tunnel, rain soaked as it was. Many an adventurer, past and present set up shop there as a would be merchant to hock their wares. Tonight was no different. Gnomes and dwarves ran back and forth tossing about ale from the Faydwer. Iksar stood around corner from Sergeant Slate and showed their shiny baubles from the lands far off of Kunark. Elves and humans alike stood shoulder to shoulder and haggled for the right price. Jhaele, a Feir'Dal herself, pulled her cloak up over her head as she pulled an opal from her weightless backpack. Whispering a prayer to the All Mother, she focused her energy into the gem as the rain stopped and the clouds broke. She smiled back at the young adventurers that were in awe of her raw power as she entered the tunnel. She patted each of them on the head, spreading out blessings of speed and health. Tonight would be a different kind of encounter. The elder druid sensed something different in the cave. Something didn't belong, but it wasn't unwelcome. A familiar sense of a friend. Jhaele looked across the cave, seeing leaves falling at the feet of a familiar man weilding the Nature Walker's Scimitar, that of Telin Darkforest. Jhaele approached with a curt bow usually reserved for King Tearis Thex or those of the Koada'Dal city of Felwithe. She just felt the need to put the fellow wood elf at ease. "Telin, what are you doing outside of your forest?" Telin smiled back at the wanderer before him, a druid he was not unfamiliar with though she did not wield the weapon of a Forest Warden just yet. "Jhaele, hello." The two had a conversation ranging from the weather to the influences that had invaded Kithicor and Norrath as a whole. It was strange as they talked, no one else seemed to move; like the world was frozen. Telin spoke to her of the scimitar he wielded, letting her know in time she would receive her own. The tunnel got eerily quiet. Jhaele looked around and noticed such, then turned to see Telin was gone. The woman fingered her blade but did not draw it, wondering if all she had seen was an illusion, or a call. The tunnel returned to life as the leaves faded from view at her feet. She took a moment then decided a trip was not out of the question. "Very well Mother; I shall visit the Plane of Growth. I pray you accept your daughter for what she is." A shimmering portal opened and the lands of Velious and the dragon portal near Woushi awaited. As the portal closed she looked back to the tunnel, wondering when she would return. Wrapping her cloak around her and casting the circle of summer for warmth, she ventured into the forest towards a specific tree and her encounter with the Goddess, Tunare. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To whomever the GM was in the tunnel, thank you. Above all else on Norrath, it is in fact a role-playing game. I appreciate your time last night in the tunnel. Personally, I miss the RP events. That is what EQ used to be to me. Thank you for reminding me why I still play. Jhaele Silvermane Preserver of 57 Seasons Feir'Dal of the All Mother | ||
