Default Bugged Enc pets?

Are the enchanter pets bugged?, I tried giving my pets all kinds of daggers and weapons and combinations and, for the life of me I can't get it to duel wield. Is this suppose to be like that? Can anyone confirm if the pets are bugged? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Im level 29 btw, so my pet should be high enough level.

I would say something about the search function, but this is the third thread down (and was the second until you posted this).

Edit: also from the first page http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4711

Ya i looked threw all of that already, but is that how the class suppose to be, or is it actually a bug? I never played a enchanter before, nor i never played original EQ.

Maybe i asked this question under the wrong thread...

Are chanter pets supposed to break mez as well? I don't think it was like that on live (though I didn't play a chanter on live 'til after PoP, so maybe that has something to do with it). Twice now I've had my mez broken by my pet attacking the mob. They weren't just an unlucky 'mez lands just as pet swings' thing - there was a noticable gap in time between the mez landing and pet swinging.

Bug, or working as intended?

I questioned this in the past and was met with the answer that back in vanilla this is what Enchanter pets did. It was later changed (I have not bothered to research when exactly). Yeah, it's a bit annoying and was hard to get used to at first.

I guess it would be worth looking into on the off chance that this was changed on Live during Kunark or Velious. Otherwise you are stuck with it this way for the life of the server.

Pets definitely broke mez in live, at least when I was still playing. I never used a pet in a group for this reason.

I recall that this got fixed on live. It was a general fix to all pets in that they would not agro any mezd mobs. I am hoping this gets fixed on p1999 soon as it is annoying.

This didn't happen during classic afaik. Pets always broke mezzes, differentiating good and bad pet controllers, and even scarier for enchanters if they chose to use a pet. This was changed in a patch

Pets will not attack mesmerized creatures. Pets basically treat mesmerized NPCs as if they were dead.

Thanks, I wasn't sure when the patch went in. I just remember that it was well received as the servers had more than its share of people who couldn't control their pets properly. It just took a little bit of relearning to play my enchanter with this factor in mind.
Thank you for clarifying the release time.
