I remember using IRC back in the 90s after AoL and Prodigy chatrooms became too moderated (everyone I knew got banned) and the services themselves became too expensive compared to cheaper ISPs. There were chatrooms for most fetishes and fantasies. Some pretty crazy stuff for the time. Not that I explored any of that....
