If you're a necro, you could wait until your 50+ charm and just charm him to do the quest...

I did my quest by charming the mob. It was quite simple. I hadn't really given it much thought as I am bound in the fire pots but the OT hammer will come in handy. I felt badly for a fellow guild member who had just spent a LO of time doing the war braid quest to raise faction enough to do the turn in.

I went out there the other day. As an Agnostic Gnome Rogue I started Apprehensive with absolutely no work put into VS faction. So I will certainly be knocking out the hammer before I touch anything that might bring that down.

During live there was a bug in place that if you had bottomed out faction it would rollover to Ally. So I camped in Howling Stones killing stuff until my faction rolled from max scowls to Ally lol. That bug never existed on p99 though.

Hmm, not classic! This bug needs to be introduced! :-)

It was a nice bug but you don't really need it here. Devs decided to make the Hammer quest mob very easy to charm unlike live.
