![]() Hey guys,
I'm new to the server and debating what class to play. Which classes meets the following criteria? 1) Desirable in groups 2) Capable of soloing 3) Versatile and engaging gameplay Thanks for the advice!

![]() Shaman or Enchanter fills all three of those requirements best.
Enchanters can solo with charm, and are great for groups because of CC and when you are playing a enchanter there is never a dull moment. Shaman are powerful soloers with their DOts DDs (pet eventually) and great for groups because of slow buffs and healing.

![]() Bard, Shaman, Enchanter fit your criteria the best.
I'll add Druid as an honorable mention for versatile caster class because of ports, though they aren't as desirable for groups at the highest levels. Ports are really nice though, they shorten your travel time, let you LFG worldwide, and make you money.

now, i said earlier that shamen can't heal anymore at high levels (we're not counting 60 - torpor is a game changer), which is true. however, shamen have slow, which is vital in allowing the tank to tank some really hard hitting mobs. enchanters can slow too but an enchanter who is busy with buffs and CC will not have enough mana to keep up with his group if he is forced to slow every mob. in addition, the buffs that shamen provide are really unparalleled by any other class. that gives shamen several important niches that no other class can really provide. meanwhile, druids are surpassed in essentially every category by some class in everything they do. often, these other classes are highly desireable in groups already. the generalized utility of a druid makes them great for soloing or small groups and duos, but bad for large groups that have several specialized classes in them already fulfilling most of the required roles.

Guess my druid will get leveled up high enough to become an extremely useful port biznitch and then I'll roll my bard alt [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
