Can't get past character creation screen

I made my character, an erudite shadowknight, but when I click enter world I constantly crash instead of entering the world. The first time it started loading the Mines of Gloomingdeep but crashed, the second time it started loading Paineel like it was supposed to be crashed again. I can't get past the character creation screen basically and I have no idea why. I've followed all the steps to connect to the P1999 server correctly.

Anyone else have this issue with their character? I'm on a vista 32bit laptop with dual core AMD turion 64 CPUs @ 1.8 GHz each, 2GB of ram, Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 integrated card with 796 MB.

I played on other private servers earlier with no issues so I know my problem is related to the P1999 server.

is euridite sk even in game?? i know i was trying to make a halfling ranger at one point and did the same thing... come to find out halfling rangers dont exist in game

I believe they should be. Paineel came out with the hole which is a classic instance. You have a point I can try making another character that is obviously classic to see if that solves the issue, but in any case, erudite shadowknight should work.

Also I don't get any sort of error message. I get a disconnect to the login server after I try to connect with my erudite shadowknight.

Well I took your advice and made a troll shaman. That let me in no problem at all. Guess the devs never fixed the game to allow erudite shadowknights. Not "classic" enough.

Well got the erudite shadowknight working. Dunno guess the server was being stupid. Name's Nibhaca if anyone wants to group/help me level up.
