Default chords of dissonance spell range

Has it always been this short? My 12 yr old memory is foggy. I feel like it used to be much further range. When I kite, I have to almost let the mob hit me for it to actually hit them in range..

the range is fine, its just frontal cone hit box is sketchy if you break out of the circle. sometimes its easier to kite big ass beetles than tiny lil wisps and such just because you can see them positioned on the screen better. at 18 if theyre on your screen at all you are doing it wrong

Supposed to have a 30 range, it does seem small.

I agree. It seems quite smaller than it should. You have to be literally just out of mobs hit range for the spell to hit them. Especially if some people have the slightest bit of lag, boom, bard down.

The way it is now is classic (the range is 30 on this server, I believe this was recovered from the kunark spdat). After rigorous training I was able to master the art of hitting mobs with chords while not getting hit by them. Some Bards (Cast) still have trouble with this, but that's understandable.

From memory the following pbae's have a range of 30 on this server: Chords of Dissonance, Largo's Melodic Binding, Angstlich's Appalling Screech, Selo's Chords of Cessation, while the following pbae's have a range of 35: Kelin's Lucid Lullaby, Denon's Disruptive Discord, Selo's Assonant Strane, Song of Midnight, Denon's Bereavement (I could be wrong, this is just my guess). I think this is all accurate to classic, you just have to practice not getting hit.

30 units is 15% of normal hostile spell range. It is as small as it's intended to be.

Maybe, but then it seems like melee range is about 29.2 here. Mobs also move at a much faster rate for P99 than they did in Classic.
