Default Trying to play with housemate, login locked

Hi, so my housemate and I want to relive our EQ days of old by joining project 1999. We both have the game installed and totally operational, but only one of us at a time can play. I'm guessing this is due to the shared IP address from our wireless router. Is there any way around this issue?

Yes you will have to go to the Petition/Exploit Section

read this and then post the information needed to apply for an IP Exemption

Create a petition in the forums here. There is a section below this to do so. Sadly you might have to wait a good long while. Until than you can try,
1. Find a stable free proxy to use.
2. tether with one of your cell phones. Just remember that EQ uses UDP data. So make sure you check the settings of the tethering program you are using so that UDP is enabled.
3. Look for another router in your neighborhood that is open.
4. Call ISP and request a second IP. (this normally costs money)

Basically you just need to get one of the other machines on a different external machine.

Hello, my wife and I are just starting on p99 also and we submitted our petition this weekend. Hopefully they are able to respond soon, but until then I thought about looking into your suggestion of a proxy server as a work-around.

Are there any that you would suggest for this application?

Thanks for your time,

It's almost like they don't want more people playing here. If I was in charge of IP exemptions, I'd do them every week so that new players would join more often. Call me crazy.

seems kind of silly they would have only one person handling exemptions. it might be a better idea to have all GM's open to make the call. We're trying to get his fiance in to the game as well, she lives with us too. However, the situation is making it seem like more trouble than it is worth to her =\
