Born in the slums of East Freeport to a 2 copper whore, and snatched from the tit before any sort of bond could form. The man responsible for the theft was anefarious Necromancer by the name of Netuk Phenson for use in his unholy sacrificial rites.


But during the ritual something went awry, whether it was due to an imperfect pentagram drawn in bone dust, or divine intervention from Innoruuk noone truly knows.... But when the sacrifical dagger fell, it was deflected and an unholy purple aura surrounded the baby. That instant Netuk realized he was in possesion of a very special child.

That day, and for the rest of his life Netuk would steer Vulgrim on a path of "Blood and Sacrifice" in the name of the GREAT ONE!

RP stories of Shadow Knights are interesting, but if you roll death knight, what spec are you going? Blood? Frost? Unholy?

Yesterday my first time ever playing the game, so I am unsure as to what "spec" Vulgrim will become.... I have tons of reading ahead of me!

O dear...well, Everquest doesn't have specs, it also does not have Death Knights. But Everquest does have Shadow Knights, which have a similar RP-theme to Warcraft's Death Knights. If you need class advice, I suggest you start in either the Tank P99 subforum or the Shadow Knight P99 wiki page.

only if his real father is revealed to be none other than the ruler of Rivervale, Mayor Gubbin...and after Mayor Gubbin realizes that his lowly treachery with 2cp whores in Freeport have resulted in a vile deathnight, he organizes and leads an army of hobbit droods to destroy it, and in the apex of the battle when Mayor Gubbin crosses blades with his son Vulgrim, there is a heart breaking dialog where Vulgrim curses and denounces his father and Mayor Gubbin murder-suicides.

which results in an arcane explosion destroying half of east freeport and every hobbit and shadow knight on the battlefield

Netuk up realizing Vulgrims potential, gives him the task of collecting bones from the animated skeletons found around freeport for use in his rituals. The first *smack* of his mace awoke a dark beast within Vulgrim, almost as if he was possessed by a spirit greater than himself!

Even though Vulgrim was growing stronger by the day, he often found himself outmatched and torn to shreds by huge mobs of these undead! Almost as if Vulgrim had a glowing beacon of hate buried within him....

Upon learning of his failure Netuk attempted to put out the growing flame that was Vulgrims power... But each and every time Netuk raised his hand to Vulgrim, it was deflected or met with an arc of purple flame that only served to intensify Vulgrims hate for all things living....
