Game Mechanics: Picking stuff up from the ground

Let me start by stating I have no idea if this is an issue specific to my computer or if it's an actual bug. The problem has happened on two separate characters on the Project 1999 server this week. I have come across loot on the ground and when I pick it up everything seems fine, but there's yet another tiny bag icon on the ground. So, I try to pick up that loot as well, but nothing happens. It stays on the ground, my inventory screen disappears, and I'm no longer able to open it again. I press the "I" key and I click the inventory icon on the options bar or whatever it's called and it still won't open. I'm also unable to cast spells or Forage or do pretty much anything except move and fight. The only thing that fixes the issue is to zone or camp.
