Default lvl 30 druid questions

Hey guys,

Just hit lvl 30 on my druid yesterday (first druid character ever) and I've got some questions going forward.

1. What's the best place to solo for lvl 30?
- I'm charm kiting mammoths in everfrost right now, but wondering if there is a better place (maybe OT?)

2. What should I specialize in?
I've heard that conj is best for root/rot, but that I doesnt really pay off until lvl 53. I've also heard evoc is best for quad kiting. Thoughts?

Thanks

For specialization I say dont worry about it, just keep doing what you normally do for soloing, whatever skill gets to 50 is mostly likely the one you want.

I solo'd the guards at the inns in East Commonlands and the gnolls in South Karana.

The EC guards respawn quick, drop Fine Steel (which you have merchants to sell to right there where you kill them) and you can sell your ports easily. Even just the bare minimum ports that you have you can make some decent cash with.

If they are taken or you're bored with that go solo the gnolls in South Karana.
Easy to get to and good for plat too. Again, you can pawn your ports.

OT is soloable but a lot of adds all around. Very good spot for selling ports to WC because of all the people using their OT hammers to zone there. Not very good for cash from mobs though.

Most of what I've ever heard or read for spec as a druid is Alteration.
Its what I've gone with

evocation for quading. once 34 go to FV and stay along the cliff edge and quad the pirates till they get LB. then move to drolvargs. If im not mistaken you should be able to quad there from 34 till 45/46. Its a great place, theres a town with a bank right there and gaurds as well if you get a quad that goes wrong. the pirates also drop alot of fine steel weapons which you can vendor and bank right in the town.

After i did that i pretty much went to rathe and quaded hill giants. good cash and there was usually maybe 1 person at most ever in the zone to compete with, alot times i was totally alone. by 49 or so you should move to spirocs in timo deep.

As an alternative if you dont care about making plat you could probably go to CoM and quad around the goo house, not the actual goos but the other mobs. they have relatively low hp and theres a nice zone xp bonus. Bloodgills in loio are also a good choice around the same time.

charm kiting is supposed to be the best xp. I preferred quadding. with charm kiting your basically forced to play non stop, quadding you just do a quad and then get to afk for about 8-10 minutes and do another. Gives you alot more time to surf the net or do other things.

root dotting i wouldnt even bother with till your in your 50s if ide even bother with it at all.

your 52 dot is much more efficient than your 53 dot and will land on any mobs you want to kill for exp. the 52 dot is evocation, 53 dot is conjuration. evocation also covers your nukes. (this is meant to be about specialization)

I quad kited guards in NK because I like to be able to play for 3-5 minutes, then AFK for awhile so I can do other stuff. Quad kited all the way up to 55. NK Guards->Gnolls->Specs->Spirocs->Raptors.

I can't believe I still roll around these forums.

Specialize in Alteration if you plan on raiding at all. It is your bread and butter for buffs, heals, snares, roots, etc etc. 90% of a druid's raiding spells come from that tree.

The rest of these guys all have good ideas on leveling. Evoc for Quadding is a good idea, but then your going to be gimped later on when you raid, as you really don't nuke/aoe nuke in a raid setting. Same thing with conjuration... just not enough spells cast in the raiding setting.

If your not going to raid whatsoever, discard most of what I said.
