The state this server in is mostly (as stated in many rants and threads before) due to peoples playstiles and antisocial behavior.
While Nihilum is not particularly at fault in any of those regards. What makes me dislike Nihilum is their general instanstance that they are not to blame and its entirely the other sides or other players faults. That some how Nihilum in general saved the server from the brink of destruction and that the only reason VP dragons are getting raided at all is because of them. My other complaint. Is that every new blue player that is tired of raiding at 3am, comes over here and tells me, oh, I'm just here to raid at better times. Fine. But accept it and don't claim to be either good at the game, good pvpers, saving the box. Hero's. Or anything else. Say your the #1 raid org of R99 and you do not give a fuck about anything except pleasant raid times for yourself. That I can respect. Some of your members are upfront about it, and that bluebie even earned my respect by stating thats why their here. But you guys are not running newbie feeder guilds. You have half your chars unguilded and ganking people without wearing targets. You let spells rot in seb. You don't run /random 100 pug raids for any of the smaller guilds like <Serenity> was, or <Knights of Ni> style guilds. You don't have your alts in a friendly guild. You run around in the best gear you can and kill anyone who disagrees with you no matter how unsportsmanlike it is. You will take any borderline in game exploitive advantage you can just to avoid getting overrun by the "server mongrels". A part of sportsmanship is to recognize when your winning and not completely stomp your enemies into the ground. Sure a good game of 100 vs 0 is fine now and again. But if you want a thriving server. Let a few mobs slip here and than. Don't tag everyone, if you have loot your real guild doesn't need share it by letting people random on it. It will go a long way to improving your image and setting a much friendly atmosphere. You can still be competitive and show up to trak with everything you can muster. People will be less likely to double cross you, backstab you, train you, or in general wreck your VP runs if you take this stance. The casuals will appreciate it and respect you. You will have more than half the server on your side without having to beat everyone into a pixel grinding machine. Just a thought. You don't have to take my advice or suggestion. It's all a matter of perspective and opinion. I just wanted to try and re-illustrate in a more mature way why I particularly have a lack of respect for Nihilum's "Vision(TM)". And why I have chosen to side with the "server mongrels". Perhaps a few of us take the metagaming aspect of forumquest a bit far, but thats what RnF is for IMO. Deal with it. Most of you don't even post here so I imagine thats fine and I can respect that. But there's a few of you do that make my eyes roll back into my head when you try to white knight pixels frenzy. | ||
