problems after updating

I recently updated the september 22nd update and i don't know why but it is bringing up an empty character screen different from the one that comes up when your updates are out of date. It brings up a empty character screen with a different looking character model and on top of the character it says the name, "newbie". Any suggestions on how to fix this? I really don't want to have to reinstall. It has froglok and vashir as a race option.. not sure how this happened, but I could use some help trying to fix it, i just want to play classic eq again [You must be logged in to view images.
